Warmth, happiness, and flavors are on the menu this July.
Seasonal products galore
We’re not going to rehash history or reinvent the wheel, this month, as always, we’re focusing on seasonal produce, packed with vitamins and sunshine. Strawberry, peach, apricot, watermelon, melon, raspberry, but also rhubarb, for fruit; and zucchini, cucumber, pepper, green bean, artichoke, or even eggplant brighten up our plates by adding a splash of color. In July, we also don’t forget to give pride of place to aromatic herbs: basil, parsley, chervil, chives, coriander, tarragon, rosemary. Blended into a gourmet pesto, to be served with beautifully reddened tomatoes, a nice burrata, or bread crisps, aromatic herbs like rosemary can also be used as a base for gourmet skewers, or fried like sage leaves.
Glory to freshness
In summer, make way for the freshness of certain cheeses like mozzarella, burrata, or feta, which work wonders in raw or processed versions. Feta, for example, awakens watermelon; burrata is splendid with almost all the ingredients it accompanies; when mozza accompanied by a drizzle of a nice olive oil is enough in itself.
Summer recipes
Each season has its flagship recipes. In summer, we give pride of place to caprese salad; meat or vegetable tartares; varied carpaccio; colorful salads; summer vegetable tarts; gourmet ratatouille; refreshing gazpacho; or iodized shellfish. So many holiday, traditional, or family flavors that delight us all summer long.
