A selection of tasty and inexpensive recipes to satisfy the whole table.
Who said that a larger quantity necessarily means a bigger budget? If family meals by definition require larger purchases, there are many foods that allow you to eat healthily without breaking the bank.
Food at affordable prices
At the top of the ranking are of course seasonal products which, in addition to being more environmentally friendly, are more affordable from an economic point of view. In this month of September, we take advantage of the last summer fruits and vegetables, still available on the stalls, such as tomatoes, zucchini, peppers or eggplants. There are also many end-of-season products such as Mirabelle plums and plums. The month of September is a period of meteorological transition which therefore offers a greater variety of plants, the perfect opportunity to stock up on vitamins. In the kitchen, they can be slipped into the heart of back-to-school salads or family dishes in the oven. Tasty and easy to make recipes, which are perfect for XL format.
When going through the shelves, we don’t hesitate to stock up on canned products, which last longer, while being good for the wallet. Corn, beans or even canned fish, for example, are all easy to prepare, and can be used to enhance a number of preparations.
Finally, for a balanced and varied diet, consider alternating between different starchy foods wherever possible. Rice, pasta, potatoes or semolina can all be prepared in large quantities without difficulty, and allow for complete plates at a lower cost. We will then preferably opt for whole grains, which are more nutritious.
Friendly recipes
Once you put on your apron, you begin preparing generous dishes that invite sharing. To do this, you don’t need to look any further than the colorful recipes that the Mediterranean basin is famous for. Ratatouille, homemade pizza, couscous, stews and pasta with sauce are essentials, adored by family chefs. And for good reason, their simple preparation adapts perfectly to the maxi format. And to be sure not to exceed your budget, it is better to get organized and plan meals for the week in advance.
