With Arlett Kentucky, the Tessendier Distillery explores a new facet of French single malt. Aged for more than four years in new American oak barrels and bourbon barrels, then refined for six months in Kentucky barrels, this whiskey plays on generous notes of vanilla, coconut, banana and caramel, while retaining a strong malty identity. Designed in particular for bar professionals, it intends to bring a French signature to the great classics of mixology, from the Old Fashioned to the Whiskey Sour.

With this new reference, Arlett responds to a demand from cafes, hotels and restaurants: to have a French whiskey capable of integrating into emblematic cocktails, while bringing its own personality. The idea is not to replace bourbon, but to offer another reading of its aromatic codes, supported by the know-how of the Tessendier Distillery, based in Charente.

Double distillation in a traditional copper still precedes aging for more than four years in new American oak barrels and bourbon barrels. The six-month maturation in Kentucky barrels completes this process and reinforces the woody and pastry dimension of the whiskey. Uncold filtered and without the addition of caramel, Arlett Kentucky Cask Finish thus boasts a rich and creamy profile, where the malt remains at the heart of the tasting.

On the nose and on the palate, this finish highlights a gourmet aromatic palette. The notes of vanilla, coconut, banana and caramel evoke the pastry tones brought by the working of the barrels, while the cereal and the malt preserve the signature of the Arlett house. The whole seeks the balance between woody intensity and malty finesse, with a generous expression without erasing the French origin of the spirit.

It is also behind the bar that Arlett Finition Fût de Kentucky intends to express its potential. Its aromatic profile allows it to join the composition of great classics such as the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour, the Manhattan or the Horse’s Neck. It brings its vanilla and caramelized accents, while retaining a malty presence of its own.

It also exists in an Essential box bringing together three 20 cl bottles: the Blended, the Kentucky Barrel Finish and the Pineau des Charentes Barrel Finish, at the price of €45.90, the three 20 cl bottles.
