On fruit and spices, this Château Bas rouge 2024 is a generous Coteaux-d’Aix-en-Provence with beautiful freshness. A nice organic wine to get quickly to accompany beautiful autumn and winter stews.
A blend of Syrah (70%) and Grenache (30%), this beautiful Provencal must have a place in your cellar. Very aromatic on the nose, expressive on the palate and with good length, this Château Bas rouge 2024 can be tasted perfectly at the moment and will still be able to delight lovers in two to three years. It’s a nice introduction to the property’s head vintage, Château Bas Le Temple.
Harvested at optimal maturity, the grapes are brought to the cellar to be destemmed and crushed. After cold alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged in vats before bottling.
With a garnet color, it opens with delicious notes of small ripe red fruits, fresh notes of pepper and menthol and warmer notes of cedar. The palate is fleshy with well-blended but present tannins. The whole is silky and very fruity, with a nice balance between sweet acidity and roundness evolving towards a touch of liquorice on the finish.
Enjoy it decanted, a little in advance, with a nice grilled red meat, a Provençal stew, a risotto with Banon and raw ham, a fillet of lamb glazed with sweet spices, an autumn veal tagine, a rabbit stew or even a shoulder of lamb with candied shallots.
Château Bas Rouge 2024 is available, from wine merchants as well as from the property’s online store, at the price of €13 per bottle.
