When the weather turns gray and a veil of rain falls on the landscapes, only one idea comes to mind: enjoy the spectacle while tasting a good autumn cake. Tips and recipes.
When it comes to watching the rain, we don’t really have any “tips” to give you, but when it comes to fall cake, on the other hand, we’re never short of advice! Who says autumn, says seasonal products. Pumpkin, apples, pears, hazelnuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, chestnuts and chestnuts, so many flavors that easily adapt to the exercise of sweetness. Other ingredients wonderfully complete the panoply of the perfect seasonal pastry, namely cinnamon, coffee and chocolate, which perfectly coat the seasonal ingredient in its cake.
Making an autumn cake with vegetables: what you need to know
Cooking vegetables as an autumn dessert is not that complicated but can put off some novices, yet the carrot in carrot cake is sublime, the pumpkin in pumpkin pie is a must, just like the pumpkin or the butternut. The main idea to remember is to prepare your fall vegetables beforehand. If the carrot is used grated and raw, all the squash are cooked and blended before being used in puree. The advantage is that you can prepare a large quantity of pumpkin puree for example, and use half of it for a chocolate-squash cake and the other half in a savory version as a main dish. Also, be careful to salt your cooking water lightly, the idea is to slightly enhance the taste of the vegetable without drowning it in salt. We also avoid flavored broths which can be “bad style” sweet!
Spices that match autumn fruits
Romeo and Juliet. Laurel and Hardy. Spices and autumn. Mythical duos are inseparable and perfumed powders are no exception. If the cinnamon remains TEA A spice of autumn, it is accompanied by its companions cardamom, ginger, anise, allspice, nutmeg, and even cloves. In terms of use, pay attention to the potency of your spices, add them little by little and taste your mixture between each addition. A bland cake isn’t great, but a cake that’s too spicy is inedible! So be careful, it’s better to go slowly than to regret your action.
