Ingredients

  • 160 g of Bresse Blue
  • 600 g beef, chopped
  • 4 burger buns plain or seed
  • 4 tomatoes averages
  • 2 onions medium yellows
  • 150 g sugar
  • 5 cl olive oil
  • 30 g butter
  • 1.5 c. coffee sugar
  • 1.5 c. coffee soy sauce
  • 2 g pepper

Instructions

  • Peel and slice the onions: make sure to cut them into thin strips for better cooking.
  • Melt the onions in a pan. Heat the pan over medium heat and add the butter with 1 tbsp. tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onions and cook gently for about 15 minutes, until they become soft and lightly browned.
  • Add the sugar and soy sauce to the cooked onions. Season with pepper to taste, then continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes. Stir regularly to prevent the onions from burning.
  • Preheat the oven grill to 200°C (thermostat 6/7).
  • Wash the tomatoes, then cut them into thin slices. Slice the sucrine salad leaves into strips to make it easier to assemble the burgers.
  • Cut the Bresse Bleu into slightly thick slices so that they melt well on the steaks, without falling apart.
  • Divide the ground meat into 4 equal parts and form steaks the size of burger buns. Pepper each steak to taste. For a better consistency, avoid compressing the meat too much.
  • Heat a pan with the rest of the olive oil. Cook the steaks for 3 to 5 minutes on each side, depending on the desired doneness (rare, medium, well done).
  • Cut the loaves in half and place them under the grill in the preheated oven. Grill until lightly browned and crispy. Watch carefully to prevent them from burning.
  • Place the cooked steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Arrange the slices of Bresse Bleu on the steaks. Place the plate under the grill, with the oven door slightly open, to melt the cheese.
  • Distribute the caramelized onions and half of the salad on the bases of the burger buns. Place the melted cheese steaks on top. Add the tomato slices and the rest of the salad. Close the burgers with the bun caps.
  • Enjoy the cheeseburgers immediately, accompanied by fries or a salad for a complete meal.
