What are its nutritional qualities?

Turnip is rich in dietary fiber, potassium and calcium. In addition, it is well supplied with vitamin C and B.

Simply cooked in water, turnip contains 21.1 kcal/100g.

How to choose it?

Slightly shiny, without wrinkles or wormholes. For fresh recipes, choose them small, heavy and very firm.

What is its season?

From October to May, we feast on turnips! White and long, purple, or yellow called “golden ball turnip”, the turnip shows us all the colors.

How to cook it?

Simply brush the new turnips, before caramelizing them, grating them, or cooking them by steam or in the wok.

Store it well

The turnip can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, unwashed, in a perforated plastic bag. For new turnips, they must be consumed within 4 days.
To freeze it, simply blanch it for 3 minutes before cooling it in ice water.
