Unlike pancakes which are large and difficult for children to flip, pancakes are easier for their little hands to cook. Here, they are pineapple, upside down cake style. Cooking your own pancakes will be a fun activity to do with young and old.
Preparation : 15 mins
Cooking : 6 mins
Ingredients for 8 people
- 50g butter
- 100 g of sugar
- 2 cans of pineapple in syrup
- 1 can of cherries in syrup
For the pancake batter
- 150 g of flour
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 1 tbsp. to s. sunflower oil
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp. to s. sugar
- 200 mL of milk
Preparation
Melt 50 g of butter on the griddle.
Pour the sugar into a large salad bowl. Dip the pineapple slices in the sugar, distributing it well over all the slices and place them on the barbecue-brasero-plancha over medium heat.
Add a cherry to the syrup in the middle of each pineapple slice and cook for about 3 minutes to obtain a nice caramelization.
Prepare the pancake batter. Pour a ladle of this mixture over the pineapple slices. When small bubbles form on the surface of the pancake (after about 2 minutes), turn it over.
Cook for another 1 minute, adding a knob of butter to each pineapple pancake.
Remove them from the heat and enjoy them like this or with whipped cream or maple syrup for even more deliciousness.
This recipe can be made with fresh fruit such as apple or pear cut into strips. Let them cook for a longer or shorter time depending on the ripeness of the fruit. To make this recipe, you can also use donut dough by mixing these ingredients: 1 tbsp. to s. oil • 1 pinch of salt • 125 g flour • 1 egg • 150 mL milk.
