Mango is the exotic touch par excellence that we enjoy all year round, but especially on sunny days. With the arrival of spring, we only want one thing: invite the sun onto our plate. What other fruit than the mango to fulfill this mission? Here are 10 perfect recipes to enjoy it.
When the birds sing, the weather is mild and the first rays of the sun warm our skin in a still slightly cool climate, adding an exotic touch to your recipes transforms your day.
Mango at the end of winter
For a worthy exit from winter, mango is an excellent ally for replenishing the body. With a rich intake of vitamin C (25 mg per 100 g of mango*), mango helps strengthen the immune system and fills any deficiencies accumulated during winter, due to the absence of sun and reduced energy. With the cold temperatures of recent months, your skin has probably dried out and mango, with its high water content, can only help restore good hydration to your skin.
Cooking mango for a tropical escape
The mango is eaten as is, roasted in the oven with a little honey and cinnamon, in jam, thiakry, compote; fits into a pie and can even be prepared as a sauce, to pour over a sea bream ceviche to which we add a few pieces of mango or in a poke bow for an aloa atmosphere! Yes, we can never point it out enough, the mango is the queen of sweet/salty. In sauce or in pieces, mango goes perfectly with rice, spicy dishes (particularly curry) and any type of fish such as shrimp.
Another way to enjoy the perfect mango for spring is in a smoothie. By mixing 500 g of frozen mango pieces with 250 g of yogurt (animal or vegetable), 250 ml of coconut milk or juice of any citrus fruit, you will obtain a refreshing drink rich in vitamins.
Store the mango
Like all fruits, the condition of the mango can deteriorate quickly. To optimize its storage time, place it in the vegetable drawer of the refrigerator. If the mango is not quite ripe, leave it in the open air for a while at room temperature before placing it in a cool place. Once ripe, the mango is consumed within two to three days. How do you know if the mango is ripe? Check the smell, appearance and texture of his skin. If you don't plan to eat the mango quickly or are thinking of preparing a smoothie, place it, cut into pieces and in a freezer bag in the freezer.
