These hot drinks are perfect for staying hydrated throughout the winter.
What hot drinks to enjoy this winter?
In the morning, are you more the type to take a thermos of coffee to work, or a can of matcha tea? Unless you prefer the sweetness of an infusion or the indulgence of a steaming hot chocolate?
At aperitif time, we opt instead for a wine or a mulled cider, always to be consumed in moderation. Choose hot apple, grape or orange juice for an alcohol-free version.
Animal or vegetable milk?
It all depends on your food intolerances and tastes. Plant milks have the advantage of not containing lactose and also of bringing additional flavor to any drink. Hazelnuts, almonds, coconut… The choice is yours. If you feel like it, make your own vegetable milk at home, because those from the supermarket are often very sweet. Plus, it will cost you a lot less.
To thicken the drink, add a teaspoon. tablespoons of almond, sesame, or squash puree, as in the pumpkin spice latte.
A pinch of spices
Cinnamon, star anise, anise… In winter, we take advantage of spices to enhance any recipe. They are also full of antioxidants, vitamins and are considered anti-inflammatory foods. A golden latte, or Indian “golden milk” with turmeric and ginger, will be perfect to fight against winter ills and cope with the drop in temperatures. Another Indian drink to copy this season is chai, a black tea spiced with ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, fennel, pepper, cloves and sometimes coriander, nutmeg or cumin.
