The essential ingredients of an autumn aperitif
Fall is full of tasty and delicious foods. The opportunity to put squash, mushrooms and nuts back on the menu. Here is a small list of fall products to help you.
Autumn vegetables
In the greengrocer section, squash, cabbage, mushrooms, leafy vegetables and root vegetables are making a comeback. Chard, beets, broccoli, pumpkins, spinach, parsnips, leeks, sweet potatoes, porcini mushrooms… These vegetables are perfect for bringing lightness to your aperitif. Far from being boring and with the right recipes, they quickly become festive.
Oilseeds
Do you only know how to cook with nuts? That’s good, we have some ideas to inspire you. With hazelnuts, almonds and pecans, the possibilities are numerous. As toppings, on canapes or in a cake, they add a grilled side. Just the type of flavor we love to find in autumn.
Autumn is also the ideal season for tasting chestnuts. Far from being reserved for desserts, its slightly sweet taste and melting texture will make you fall in love. In flour, whole, or in puree, we no longer hesitate to include it in aperitif recipes.
The cold cuts
Bacon, raw ham, coppa, chorizo… Charcuterie is an essential aperitif product. If you love tasting the different specialties cut into thin slices, you can have fun transforming them into mini-cakes, puff pastries, or simply slipped on skewers for even more deliciousness.
Cheese
Between goat cheeses, blue cheeses and cooked or soft cheeses, there is something for everyone. A safe bet for a warm and friendly autumn aperitif.
Sugar
A sweet touch, even as an aperitif, is always welcome. In addition, fruit goes perfectly with cheese, it would be a shame to deprive yourself of it. For an autumn aperitif, we favor simple combinations that have proven themselves with apple, pear, grapes and quince.
To finish, a spoonful of honey or maple syrup will add the finishing touch to your appetizers. All that remains is for you to enjoy.
