Adapting your pizza toppings according to the season is always a good idea, especially in fall.
How to make fall pizza?
What ingredients should you choose for a successful fall pizza? This season, we’re focusing on comforting, undergrowth, cheese and fruity flavors for a pizza that’s as beautiful as it is delicious.
When we ask ourselves the eternal question “how to make a pizza” we immediately think of the topping, yet the dough should not be forgotten. If ready-made store-bought pizza dough is the ideal solution for busy cooks, homemade dough – especially in the case of an autumn pizza – remains a must.
In terms of ingredients, wheat flour is a must for a homemade pizza, but you can also opt for other, more typical flours such as rye flour which will match perfectly with blue cheeses and nuts. or even slices of squash. Spices like cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg or chili pepper are also good ideas for enhancing your homemade pizza. Olive oil flavored with garlic or truffle, often used to finish dishes, can also be included in the preparation of homemade dough.
Autumn dish: focus on a pizza with seasonal vegetables
For a perfectly seasonal dish, nothing beats fall vegetables like squash, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, or even carrots. Often sweet flavors that can be tempered with strong cheese like Beaufort, Roquefort, Reblochon, Comté, etc.
For preparation, it is best to prepare your vegetables in advance – roasted in pieces in the pan or in the oven – before slipping them onto your pizza dough. Indeed, as pizza is a dish that cooks quickly, if you add raw vegetables, it is not certain that they will be completely tender.
Once the dough and vegetables are ready, place everything on a baking sheet, garnish with herbs, cheese, cold meats, or even oilseeds, and bake for the indicated time.
