Better than breakfast, we adopt the winter brunch from December to March. Discover our recipe ideas.
How to spruce up your brunch for winter?
The day after a party, waking up late, meeting with friends… Any excuse is good for brunch. And it’s not during the winter that we’re going to give up this habit. So we keep our favorite brunch recipes that we simply revisit to adapt to the season and the products available.
Sweet side
Cinnamon rolls and homemade granola no longer hold any secrets for you? Have you mastered the recipe for fluffy and soft pancakes to perfection? Now it’s time to take it to the next level: use them with winter products. By adding squash or carrot puree to the dough for example, or by accompanying them with fresh fruit. Take advantage, apples, pears, kiwis, citrus fruits and exotic fruits are the stars of the moment. As toppings in porridge or on waffles, they will bring a little freshness, but above all a lot of vitamins. Perfect for boosting your body, while giving yourself pleasure.
Savory side
Because it is not simply a breakfast for late risers and there is something for everyone, a proper brunch also includes savory dishes. Among the essential recipes, we of course find avocado toast, soft-boiled eggs, salads, sandwiches… We therefore of course put them on the menu, but we revisit them with seasonal products. The soft-boiled egg will therefore be presented in a duck and leek croque-monsieur, and accompanied by a citrus sauce. As for the salad, we choose a sweet and sour recipe based on kale, citrus fruits, cranberries and dried fruits. Finally, for a treat, we are thinking of preparing a creamy polenta with mushrooms.
And to drink ?
For a successful brunch, consider accompanying the savory and sweet dishes with hot drinks, fresh fruit juices, or seasonal cocktails, to be adapted according to the atmosphere. Do you want a chic brunch? Try the mimosa with pomegranate juice, bright in color and perfectly seasonal. Are you part of the balanced breakfast team? So serve juices and smoothies made with winter fruits and vegetables like apple, orange and carrot. They will allow you to absorb a good dose of vitamins, as soon as you wake up.
