In June, there is so much choice on the stalls of our markets that we want to take everything. Between barbecues, picnics or family meals, you think the bill is likely to be steep at the end of June. But eating well isn't as expensive as you think. The proof in 20 recipes.
Seasonal fruits and vegetables galore
In June, there are no excuses not to eat fruits and vegetables. Between tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, melons and peaches, there is enough to stock up on vitamins without breaking the bank, from starter to dessert. Adapting your menus to the rhythm of the seasons allows you to both save money and respect the environment. Since they do not travel thousands of kilometers by boat and are not grown in greenhouses, their cost is much more reasonable and beneficial for us. A simple eggplant caviar as a starter, to vary with a cucumber salad with yogurt or pea and radish toast. And why not a green tomato tart tatin? In short, they are infinitely adaptable. Whatever June fruits and vegetables we choose, they provide fiber, vitamins, and minerals to our body, perfect for hot days.
Barbecue season is here and the cost of meat is leaving us with a bitter taste. We have the solution for you: a vegetarian barbecue. Two notions far from being irreconcilable! Legume patties, vegetarian sausages, plant-based burgers, grilled vegetables… It's the perfect time to try meat-free recipes.
Canned fish as a solution
Canned fish is known for being inexpensive. We have to admit, they save our lives when we find them at the back of the cupboard and we don't know what to make for dinner. Between their contribution in protein, omega-3, vitamin D, calcium, the unbeatable prices and the few preparations they require, we should no longer have any doubts about integrating them more into our salads, plates of pasta and quiches.
Flour so as not to ruin yourself
Quiches, tarts, cakes, foccacia, are recipes whose main ingredient is inexpensive: flour. The rest is up to you! With fruits, vegetables, cheese, the choice is in your hands but one thing is certain, with flour, you work wonders.
