In spring, we want freshness, color and lightness on the plate. On the stalls you can find a jumble of tomatoes, asparagus, radishes, new peas, young green shoots and the first strawberries showing off their vitamin-filled good looks. We open our seasonal recipe notebook and entrust you with our 45 recipes that make spring.
March 20 is officially spring. The days are getting longer and longer, and good humor is there. A period that is fast approaching, during which many devote themselves to diets in preparation for summer. Indeed, spring is the perfect opportunity to take care of yourself and your body, starting of course by resuming good eating habits. From the first days of spring, we prepare pretty fresh and colorful plates: carpaccio, salads, herbs and fresh cheeses are included. Without forgetting, of course, seasonal fruits and vegetables. In addition to being good for the environment, they meet exactly the nutritional needs of our body depending on the time of year. Thank you Mother Nature!
Spring vegetables
In spring, green vegetables are in the spotlight. We consume them without moderation since they are full of fiber to facilitate digestion and vitamins, but also contain a lot of water, which allows us to stay hydrated throughout the day. Most of them are cooked cooked or raw. Asparagus is without hesitation the star of the season, both as a starter and as an accompaniment. It can be served cold or hot, covered with a vinaigrette or a classic mayonnaise for example. There is also spinach, an outstanding antioxidant, leek, peas, radishes, zucchini and even potatoes. We will have to wait until May to finally be able to see artichokes slipping onto our plates.
Spring fruits
When it comes to fruits, now is the time to enjoy the latest exotic foods. On the shelves, we find kiwis, avocados, bananas, lemons, grapefruits and even oranges. With the coming of spring, we can finally enjoy a salad of red fruits which come back in force from March-April for strawberries, April for rhubarb, or May for cherries, accompanied by other fruits like fishing.
