Menu of the week: recipe ideas from Monday 12 to Sunday 18 August

Heat, beach or walk, and fresh produce, that’s the program for the week.

This week, we’re putting summer on the plate. Between seared fish, gourmet ice creams, seasonal fruits put in a tart, the menu promises to be gourmet around seasonal fruits and vegetables. As a reminder, products that are in season such as zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, eggplants, nectarines, peaches, apricots, are less expensive than products that have traveled a long way. And if they come from local and organic farming, it’s even better!

My shopping list for the week

Side firstwe stock up on tomatoes, zucchini, cucumber, eggplant, white, red and new onions, garlic, sweet pepper, red and green peppers, lamb’s lettuce, green beans, cherry tomatoes, and eggplant. Not forgetting basil, dill, mint, coriander, verbena, parsley and oregano, for the aromatic herbs.

Regarding the fruitswe take yellow and green lemons, strawberries, bananas, raspberries, vine peaches, melons, and apricots for the fabulous Sunday pie.

For the dairy productswe have on its list whole liquid cream, Greek yogurt, mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, mascarpone, whole milk, butter, and halloumi.

Side seawe ask the fishmonger for nice pieces of swordfish and sea bream, as well as mussels.

For the meat and cold cutspork is in the spotlight in sausage and pork rib versions.

For the pastry shop of the week, we buy as needed white and icing sugar, flour, yeast, gelatin sheets, coconut milk, rose syrup, sponge fingers, filo sheets, and maple syrup.

Regarding the oilseedsyou will need peanut butter, powdered and milked almonds, but also pistachios and hazelnuts.

At grocery departmentwe choose black olives, tomato coulis, white wine, mustard, olive and peanut oil, and a little red wine vinegar. Cardamom, ginger, cumin, ras el-hanout, Espelette pepper, are also necessary concerning the spices.

We finish with eggs, a baguette, and puff pastry.
