In winter, fatigue and cold set in and you will need good products to keep fit and in good spirits. The month of January offers a rich palette of winter fruits and vegetables, allowing you to concoct good dishes while enjoying their nutritional benefits. This week, cabbage, leeks, beets, endives, turnips and even spinach, rich in nutrients, are featured in delicious and nourishing recipes that will do you good. On the fruit side, citrus fruits, the real stars of the season, not only bring a welcome note of freshness, but also vitamin C, perfect for fighting winter fatigue. Obviously, we reserve pride of place for cheeses, preferably melted, which will bring comfort and deliciousness to your week.

Your shopping list for the week
Something promised, something due. This week, you will stock up on winter fruits and vegetables. Add spinach, broccoli, beets, turnips, leeks, button mushrooms, potatoes, sweet potatoes, Chinese cabbage, shiitake, endives, carrots (purple, yellow and orange), lamb’s lettuce and radishes to your basket. For fruit, take apples, chestnuts, dates, pears, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit, pineapple, lemon and lime. Don’t forget the aromatic herbs: coriander, mint, lemongrass, thyme, parsley, chives, chervil, dill, tarragon and watercress. Finally, don’t forget to take a ginger root.
For proteins, choose smoked bacon, fillets and a whole chicken, as well as pork shoulder (or fillet). Stop by the cheese section to pick up some Saint-Nectaire, Philadelphia-style fresh cheese, fresh goat’s cheese, raclette cheese and feta. While you are in the fresh section, also take butter, thick and liquid cream.
In the grocery section, don’t forget the spices: cinnamon, anise and cloves, Espelette pepper, oregano and zaatar. Let’s move on to dry goods. You will need pasta, ideally linguine and basmati rice. But also sugar and icing sugar, flour, eggs, pistachios, hazelnuts, dark chocolate with 70% cocoa, raisins, almond puree, bitter cocoa, honey, maple syrup and spread; and finally, sweet soy sauce, nuoc-mâm sauce, coconut milk, sesame oil, harissa in the world cuisine section.
