These frosted desserts won’t leave your guests frozen.
During the festivities, our hearts warm, but the temperature remains frozen. To match your menu to the cold outside, frozen desserts are essential. The traditional frozen log being the first option that comes to mind, which recipes should you turn to when you want to innovate at Christmas?
Classic or hybrid desserts
Apart from the log, several frozen desserts exist: the parfait (and its Italian version, the semifreddo), the Norwegian omelette, or even profiteroles. The Norwegian omelette brings warmth and tenderness with its fiery exterior that protects its cold interior. The surprise caused by the combination of the two temperatures will be an excellent topic of discussion to end the New Year’s Eve dinner in style.
It is also possible to adapt desserts or cakes in an iced version, such as soufflé or tiramisu. The opportunity to amaze your guests by allowing them to taste their favorite dessert in an iced and creamy version. Obviously, the organization will be slightly different since freezing time is necessary. We therefore organize ourselves in advance by taking this essential element into account.
Christmas scents celebrated
Making homemade ice cream is an opportunity to start from a blank page. There is the main ingredient (cream or milk) to which we add Christmas flavors: champagne, cinnamon, citrus fruits, nougat, candied chestnuts and for the bravest, onion confit. This last flavor will go perfectly with orange coulis.
You can choose more classic scents like vanilla or coconut which evokes the white of snow. To bring a festive spirit, simply decorate your dessert with edible decorations such as broken nuts, chocolate chips, pieces of pralines or candied fruit. If you want to enrich the composition of your plate, you can serve these ice creams with cannoli or choux pastry.
