Chic and refined, Valentine’s Valentin’s verrines are perfect for opening a romantic dinner.
This year, it’s decided, you are celebrating Valentine’s Day at home. It only remains to determine the menu, from entry to dessert. What if for the aperitif, do you opt for aperitif verrines? Admit that they always have an effect. With gourmet recipes and a careful presentation, there is no doubt that they will make your heart succumb.
How to make sublime verrines for Valentine’s Day?
Festive ingredients
Truffle, foie gras, caviar … From a culinary point of view, Valentine’s Day looks a lot like Christmas. Nothing surprising, after all, is love the most beautiful of gifts?
In any case, this gives us the opportunity to taste exceptional products. However, because you don’t only live in love and fresh water, you can also opt for cheaper alternatives. For example, by replacing the truffle with flavored oil or salt and substituting the eggs of Lump or salmon with sturgeon eggs.
In addition to these ingredients, we also think of aphrodisiac foods supposed to stir up the flame. Ginger, cinnamon, lawyer and oyster indeed contain nutrients known to boost libido. Whether it has a real impact or not, in any case, they will delight us.
Finally, if we were to give you a single instruction to respect, it would be to use seasonal products. Forget the tomatoes, zucchini, and peppers, instead, they prefer beets, squash, cabbage and root vegetables.
Multiple textures
To tickle the taste buds, what is better than an avalanche of textures? A creamy puree here, crisp pickles there … we juxtapose, we hide and we sprinkle.
Our advice to remember for assembly:
- Start by placing the heaviest elements of the recipe at the bottom of the container and finish with the lightest ingredients.
- Please note, some fruits and vegetables are rich in water and tend to reject juice. Unless you want to soak up the lower layers, as in a tiramisu for example, it is better to place them at the bottom of the glasses.
- If possible, mount your verrines at the last moment. You can prepare all the elements in advance to save time, but wait until the same evening to put them in verrines. Dry ingredients may soften in contact with liquid preparations.
Just quantities
When you love, you don’t count. However, it would be a shame not to reach the end of the dinner because the aperitif was too generous. We recommend 1 to 3 verrines depending on their size, and the rest of the planned menu.
