Eating salty in the morning, the best way to start the day? Trying a savory breakfast means adopting it!
As Jessie Inchauspé aka @glucosegoddess on Instagram, author of the best-seller “Make your glucose revolution” and the “Glucose Goddess Method”, explains so well to us, eating salty for breakfast is the best way to put an end to it. morning cravings and hold out until noon. Indeed, a classic breakfast based on toast, jam, fruit juice, granola, muesli, and other sweets triggers a huge spike in glucose in our body. But the higher the mountain, the harder the fall will be! In fact, it is when the peak comes down that symptoms appear, including cravings.
To remedy this and finally hold on for the long haul without nervously looking at your watch, there is a solution: eat salty food when you get out of bed. Obviously, when you have sweet habits, going from everything to everything can be difficult, having said that, you can start with savory, and save a little sweetness for the end. The main idea being to eat protein at the start of the meal.
What recipes for my savory breakfast?
Do you see us coming with our huge hooves? Obviously, eggs, adopted by many countries, are a perfect solution. In omelettes, scrambled dishes, or transformed into omelette muffins, these are an easy and economical solution to start eating savory foods.
White ham, chicken ham or even smoked fish are also a solution, without forgetting cheese, Greek yogurt, nuts, tofu, cream cheese, peanut butter, or seeds. The important thing is to stock up on proteins which stabilize both our blood sugar and our satiety. Two birds with one stone !

Obviously, munching on a cereal bar while putting on your coat is the quick solution, but with a little organization, anyone can do it.
How to do ? As always, the key to everything in cooking is often anticipation. If really taking out your pan first thing in the morning isn’t an option, why not prepare your omelette the day before, and reheat it when the time comes? It won’t be cooked minute, okay, but certainly no less good. Same idea with a quiche to prepare in advance that can last for at least four days. Same with savory muffins with cheese and cold meats, prepared in advance, and stored in an airtight box.
