Could you eat pasta 365 days a year? Then you will love these winter pasta recipes!
In the category of good, inexpensive and easy to prepare dishes, pasta undoubtedly comes in first place. And for good reason ! In addition to the different varieties of existing pasta, the filling possibilities are numerous. Seasonal vegetables, meat, fish, cheese, with a creamy or tomato-based sauce… They never cease to surprise you, including in winter.
How to prepare your pasta for the winter?
With seasonal products
To transcend buttery pasta, accompany your spaghetti with seasonal vegetables. Spinach, mushrooms, leeks or squash bring as many colors as flavors to the plate, as well as vitamins and fiber. For those who don’t particularly like vegetables, this is a simple way to eat more of them. To satisfy the most gourmands, we don’t hesitate to add a nice dose of cheese which will bring the comforting touch, essential in winter. You are free to choose this unbeatable combination of vegetables and cheese in the form of lasagna, stuffed pasta or gratins.
Pastasotto style
Another option to explore: pasta risotto. As quick to prepare as its rice counterpart, it requires almost no effort.
To make it, melt a knob of butter in a saucepan. Add the pasta (coquette or crozet type), mix to coat it with butter, then add vegetable or meat broth as you go. Let it cook for around ten minutes before adding the garnish (ham, fried mushrooms, sliced leeks, etc.). Remove the pan from the heat, add cheese (comté, parmesan, reblochon, etc.) and cream. Mix, then let sit for a few minutes covered before serving.
For a lighter version, replace the liquid cream with soy cream or a lower-calorie cheese such as ricotta or fresh goat’s cheese.
Pasta, yes, but in an exotic version
With wheat, rice or buckwheat… Take the wok out of the cupboard, it’s time to prepare delicious homemade fried noodles. With seasonal products, a dash of soy sauce and a source of protein, you will have an exotic dish in just a few minutes.
If you have time on your hands, we also recommend that you try our recipe for homemade mushroom and spinach gyozas. They are much easier to make than you think, and particularly tasty. In addition, you can keep the dough recipe and vary the filling as you wish.
