With the start of the school year, we’re cooking summer fruits and vegetables right up until the last moment that brighten up our plate, from starter to dessert.
End of season recipes are all good
Intensely flavored vegetables
Until the last light of summer, we give pride of place to tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, eggplant, cucumbers, and even green beans. Delights to enjoy raw or cooked, marinated, or even grilled, to make summer last as long as possible. As for recipes, we think of original salads, homemade Provençal tian, gratins, tarts, or even stuffed tomatoes, which have not said their last word.
Inspiring summer fruits
Good news for fruit fans, summer, even if it is not eternal, is the perfect season to enjoy sun-drenched products. Apricots, peaches, nectarines, figs, watermelon, blackberries, blueberries, grapes, plums, and many others are always present on the stalls. The opportunity to eat them as is, or to make them into gourmet tarts, generous ice cream, crunchy pavlova, soft cake, or even include them in a salad to bring just the right amount of sweetness to the whole thing.
Put summer in a jar
And if you have a little time on your hands, think about jars and jams to make yourself to enjoy summer products, even when the sun is absent. It requires spending a little time at the moment, but the future benefit will be worth the investment!
