What is more festive than an aperitif to celebrate love?
On February 14, while some reserve a chef dinner at the restaurant, others will prefer to concoct a menu at home. For this special occasion, how about starting with a chic and delicious aperitif?
How to prepare an aperitif for Valentine’s Day?
Tickle
Do you know the common point between caviar, oysters and ginger? The three of them are considered to be aphrodisiac foods, known to stir up desire.
This should inspire you with ideas of aperitifs and aphrodisiac menu. We think for example of spicing a terrine of foie gras or a gravlax of fish with fresh ginger. The oyster, meanwhile, is served in its shell with a leek fondue, for a chic aperitif. Finally, if our budget allows, we give in to the voluptuousness of caviar. Some eggs deposited on toast or verrines are enough. Unless you prefer to taste it at the Royale, on the back of the hand of its or its partner.
Provide the right quantities
Have you planned a full Valentine’s Day meal in several services? It’s all to your honor, and we hope that your half will appreciate the effort. Not too much, however, under penalty of not reaching the dessert. Admit that it would be a shame.
For the aperitif, there are therefore 3 to 4 appetizers per maximum.
On the other hand, if you offer a dinner aperitif, you can count between 5 and 10 bites per person without problem, by offering up to 5 different recipes. Beyond that, it becomes difficult to multiply the preparations and organize.
Toast with a romantic cocktail
Pleasure of bubbles obliges, champagne is essential for a romantic menu. To break the routine and venture off the beaten track, you can also offer a cocktail. In wine, tequila, fruit, with or without alcohol … Give free rein to your desires. Pay only attention to the sugar balance. Indeed, sugary cocktails go more marry with desserts than with aperitifs.
And of course, to set a pretty table, we think of choosing the glass suitable for the drink. A cup of champagne, for champagne cocktails; A tumbler glass for cocktails served with ice, etc.
