Halva

Ingredients

  • 13 cl of oil
  • 200 g white wheat flour
  • 130 g of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon(s) ground cardamom
  • 1 pinch of ground saffron
  • 2 tablespoon(s) of rose water
  • pistachios or almonds

Preparation

  1. Heat the oil in a deep pan, add the flour and simmer over low heat, stirring for 15 to 20 minutes, until it browns. Remove from heat.

  2. Boil 16 cl of water, add the sugar, cardamom, saffron and rose water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

  3. Pour the syrup into the pan off the heat, stirring to form a smooth paste.

  4. Leave to cool, then spread on a plate or cut into small pieces. Decorate with pistachios or almonds.
