When camping, simplicity and accessibility are key. Here are 7 ideas for inexpensive sandwiches to prepare in your tent or bungalow.
Unless you have a portable hotplate, are in a bungalow, and therefore have more possibilities of recipes to prepare at the campsite, here are some sandwich ideas that will allow you to enjoy your vacation without getting bored!
One sandwich, a multitude of possibilities
It is possible to do wonders with bread. By covering its crumb with a little butter or a creamy herb sauce, all that is left to do is add a little cheese, a slice of salmon, chicken or ham for protein, then a few vegetables. Tomatoes, cucumbers, spinach, lamb’s lettuce… it doesn’t matter, everything goes together! The best flavor combinations? Salmon with chives and cucumber; eggs and tuna; chicken and raw vegetables; bacon with tomato. Of course, don’t hesitate to experiment and let your inventiveness speak for itself. To replace cheese in your sandwiches, opt for cheeses without cheese. Why not try a sandwich preparation with slices of Tomme de Savoie, a little fig jam and slices of figs, lettuce and fresh cheese with herbs! A sweet/savory and delicious preparation.
The sandwich, the quick preparation on a small budget
To cook at the campsite, when you may not have access to an oven or a hotplate, we turn to sandwiches. This preparation is simple and requires no cooking, since it only requires bread (sandwich bread or baguette, depending on your preference) topped with foods such as tomato slices, ham, butter or sauce. We know the famous ham and butter sandwich, the iconic sandwich from French bakeries, or even tuna and raw vegetables. Here, we offer you sandwich recipes that are a change from the classics and will allow you to vary the flavors during your stay at the campsite. The advantage with the sandwich is that it is relatively inexpensive, and, once ready, it can be enjoyed both in the tent and outside on the grass or the beach. So prepare your takeaway meals without any hassle, on a small budget, and enjoy!
