How to make a heart-shaped cake?

Make a heart-shaped cake with a template

The first simple tip is to cut a heart out of a round or square cake using a cardboard template. Once the shape is cut out, simply cover your cake neatly with icing or sugar paste for a perfect result.

Make a heart-shaped cake without a mold

To create a heart-shaped cake without a mold, simply pour the batter into two separate molds, one square and the other round, then bake. The only rule to follow: the diameter of the round mold must be equal to the side of the square.

Then, how do we do it? Once cooked and cooled, we cut the round cake into two semi-circles. Place the square cake facing you, turned 90° to have a diamond shape. Add the semicircles against the upper sides of the square to form a heart. We cut – if necessary – the sides of the square so that the semi-circles fit perfectly. We then add icing to “glue” the cakes together. Then we completely glaze the creation so as not to see any difference between the different parts. Regarding the flavor of the icing, anything goes: cream cheese, dark, white or milk chocolate, whipped cream, etc. You just have to keep in mind that the device must be thick enough to hide the trick. You can also use sugar paste. And as a topping on the cake, you can add pieces of caramel, crumbs of meringue, chocolate shavings… There are no limits to your indulgence.
