A new fall menu to honor seasonal products.
Sweet potatoes, squash, cauliflower, and mushrooms… fall vegetables come in all forms on our fall plates. In a soft, stuffed version, raw in gourmet salads, or even simmered in comforting soups, they never disappoint. The same goes for the unmistakable apples, pears and citrus fruits which constitute the basis of our autumn desserts. They are enhanced with strong flavors: spices, dried fruits, chocolate or even coffee.

My shopping list for the week
This week, at the greengrocer, we put in our basket potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, kale, button mushrooms, chanterelles, chanterelles, enokis, sweet potatoes, leeks, beets, fennel, butternut, shallots, garlic and onions. As for fruits, you will need apples, pears, oranges, black grapes, yellow and green lemons. Don’t forget the fresh herbs: mint, parsley, chives, sage, rosemary, thyme, coriander and basil.
A quick detour to the butcher to pick up slices of dry-cured ham, white ham, chicken breasts and veal escalopes.
Then, head to the salty grocery store to get spices: cumin, paprika and smoked paprika, cinnamon, fennel seeds, curry. We continue by taking white beans, sesame paste, frying oil, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard, hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, polenta, soy sauce, coconut cream, polenta, einkorn, coral lentils, breadcrumbs and macaroni. Let’s move on to the sweet grocery store with white and brown sugar, Earl Gray tea, coffee, mixed candied fruits, raisins, ground almonds, honey, brown sugar, round dessert rice, vanilla pods and dark chocolate.
Stop in the fresh section to pick up unsalted and semi-salted butter, liquid cream, milk, puff pastry, sheep’s yogurt, brie, parmesan, grated and sliced emmental, ricotta and stirred natural yogurt.
Finally, stop by the wine merchant for a farm cider.
Have a good week and enjoy your meal!
