Your shopping list for the week
Before preparing for the week, we check that we have olive oil, eggs, flour, butter, sugar, salt and pepper left.
First stop at the stall vegetables, where you buy some carrots, potatoes, cauliflower, lemon and kaffir lime, butternut squash, ginger, butter beans, beetroot and pumpkin. We obtain the essential cloves of garlic, onion and shallots and we buy some fruits : pears, blackberries, apples, clementines, quince, passion fruit and lychees.
We anticipate a good number ofaromatic herbs, to flavor our most beautiful winter recipes. You will need chervil, chives, parsley, spring onions, mint, Provence herbs, thyme, bay leaves and oregano. Side spices : Espelette pepper, turmeric, ground cinnamon, smoked paprika, star anise and cloves will be necessary.
At grocery department, we buy chickpea flour, garlic and ginger paste, soy sauce, cider vinegar and balsamic. We don’t leave the grocery store anytime soon, and we also buy: vegetable broth, veal stock, whole canned tomatoes, shortcrust or puff pastry, liquid vegetable cream, coconut milk, cardamom pods, nori sheets (in specialty grocery store), lychee juice, rose water, cornstarch and baking soda.
For desserts of the week, we turn to the pastry department to take acacia honey, white almond puree, bitter cocoa, crushed pecans, vanilla extract, coconut shavings, hazelnuts, 80% dark chocolate, raisins, chestnut cream, coffee and leaves gelatin.
At dairy products departmentliquid cream, milk, feta, Greek yogurt, mascarpone, Philadelphia and grated parmesan will be required.
At the butcherwe buy a few slices of smoked brisket and pancetta, chicken thighs and filet mignon.
Opposite, at fish departmentwe take raw shrimp and scallops.
Short stop at the bakery to take wholemeal sandwich bread with seeds and gingerbread.
Before returning home, you will have to make a detour to the wine merchantto buy a little Sherry and Jurançon.
