Did you think snack time was just for kids? Not at all! The afternoon snack is the perfect time to recharge your batteries between activities.
What recipes for a summer snack?
With the summer heat, we forget about recipes that are too rich. Fat and sugar are indeed among the foods to avoid during temperature peaks. The first requires too much effort from our digestive system, and the second, promotes dehydration. Instead, we favor foods and recipes rich in water, to quench our thirst without thinking about it.
Moreover, drinking soda at snack time should be avoided. Even if they contain water, they are very sweet and should not be considered as the only source of hydration.
We want fruit!
Watermelon, melon, strawberries, peaches… Fruits are the eternal champions of the hydration category, which makes them essential at snack time. Not to mention that they lend themselves to a large number of recipes, from the simplest to the most elaborate.
In express mode, you can prepare a fruit salad or smoothie with whatever is lying around in the fruit basket. Perfect when you have a busy schedule and don’t want to rack your brains.

Finally, we couldn’t talk about snacks without thinking about ice creams and sorbets. In the summer, they are highly recommended to satisfy the desire for instant freshness. Especially if you choose homemade ice cream recipes made with fruit, which allow you to do without sugar. Don’t panic, if you don’t have an ice cream maker available, many frozen desserts such as granitas or nice cream can be made without an ice cream maker. Good news for those addicted to frozen snacks.
