When should we celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau?

Beaujolais Nouveau is a primeur wine

Beaujolais Nouveau is a wine made from grapes harvested during the year. It is therefore made in such a way that it can be consumed quickly and over a limited period of time. Generally speaking, it can be enjoyed within 12 to 24 months.

Beaujolais Nouveau: a date that creates an event

The release date of the early wine. Between 1951 (date of the birth of the “Beaujolais Nouveau” appellation) and 1967, the release date of primeur wine fluctuated greatly. Then until 1985, it was set for November 15. But this fixed schedule did not necessarily suit the producers, particularly because the “party” sometimes fell on a weekend. Since 1985, it has been set for the 3rd Thursday of November, which this year falls on November 21. And we have been celebrating this anniversary for over 35 years. A good reason for fans not to miss the event!

Beaujolais Nouveau: a wine that is exported

Reflecting a tradition that is part of French gastronomy, and synonymous with celebration, conviviality and joy, the notoriety of Beaujolais Nouveau goes beyond our borders and greatly appeals to Japanese and Americans. In fact, almost half of the production is intended for export.

A good honest wine

When tasting, Beaujolais Nouveau is a fresh, crisp, expressive and charming wine… A wine synonymous with pleasure and sharing which goes easily with sausage and tapas. So ready to pull out your corkscrews?
