A good plate of pasta is always a pleasure, no matter the season. Not only is it quick to prepare, which leaves you more time to devote to summer activities, but it is also economical, which is good for your vacation budget.
But from June to August, there is no question of offering pasta with cauliflower or mushrooms, we want a dish that smells of the sun. For this, we are therefore counting on “market return” recipes with seasonal vegetables or “sea” recipes with fish or seafood.

Pasta salads, queens of summer
For picnics, for unexpected guests, or simply to enjoy, pasta salads are perfect for all occasions. We must admit that with the high temperatures, they are perfect for cooling us down, especially when we don’t want to turn on our electric hobs. All you have to do is add a mix of seasonal vegetables to leftover pasta from the day before. Not to mention that certain fruits like cherries, melons or apricots also work with pasta.
Along with this, add a source of protein such as hard-boiled eggs, chickpeas, flaked tuna or salmon strips. Otherwise, leftovers from a barbecue will do the trick. Especially if you had prepared skewers mixing meat and vegetables. Simply remove the skewers and mix the grilled food with the pasta. Finally, don’t forget to complete the salad with a few mozzarella balls or cubes of Emmental cheese. You will always be forgiven for overindulging.
Lasagna yes, but summery
Rather than traditional lasagna Bolognese, we opt for summer lasagna, in perfect harmony with the season. The idea? Vary the filling to lighten it and include summer products. Peppers, tomatoes, green beans… All variations are possible. Also, some vegetables like zucchini and eggplant are large enough to be cut into thick strips, and replace the lasagna sheets.
Also, since we are craving something fresh, we are leaving our béchamel recipes aside for the moment, preferring fresh cheeses like goat or ricotta, softened with a little cream. All that remains is to arrange all the ingredients in layers in a gratin dish, then put them in the oven.
