Cooking to save money
Saving money on the basket often comes down to a simple observation: it is better to work with raw products than to buy ready-made products. Often these products contain a list of ingredients that is far too long and incomprehensible, and are sometimes disappointing in terms of taste or quality. In addition, it is obviously not possible to reduce the amount of fat, sugar, or salt, which is most often in excess. Finally, as if these arguments were not enough, they are often expensive.
The solution: cooking! And that’s good because summer is the perfect season to start or get back into it. Vegetables from the sun to cook raw or cooked, mouth-watering watermelon and melons; juicy peaches, nectarines and apricots; the fruits and vegetables of August delight the hearts.
As it is their peak season, fruits and vegetables are also available in quantity, at a lower price than a product purchased out of season.
Accessible recipes
Of course, you can enjoy yourself even without lobster, truffles or caviar! We reserve these exceptional dishes for special occasions, and we enhance everyday products by stealing the chefs’ good reflexes. For example, we can use a vegetable in its entirety in different preparations: puree, grated, brunoise, pickles, roasted or braised. Thus, even single-product plates will impress everyone! Of course, we never skip the seasoning between spices, salt, pepper, citrus zest or seeds, which enhances any vegetable or fruit. A good dish is not an expensive dish, it is a well-constructed dish, made with love and fresh products. Even the simplest caprese salad will be wonderful with tomatoes and basil from the garden, a gourmet mozzarella or burrata, and intense olive oil!
