Children's menu: the recipe for Wednesday October 16

Wednesday snack time is sacred. Gourmet and generous, it’s an opportunity to highlight all the classic snack recipes. If soft toast or cakes are welcome, biscuits are favorites. Buttered shortbread, crunchy cat’s tongues, soft cookies, flaky palm leaves, the options are numerous. In terms of ingredients, the list is often short: flour, sugar, butter, and eggs make up the majority of recipes. Chocolate also remains a safe bet, whether dark or milk, even if the little ones prefer the softer milk version. For this Wednesday, we chose the famous filled biscuits — which are reminiscent of a certain brand — with a jovial face and a contagious smile.

Delights to prepare without hesitation.

Wednesday’s recipe: Chocolate-filled cookies

Preparation: 25 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes

For 6 people
1 egg
75 g of sugar
1 sachet of vanilla sugar
250g flour
125 g of soft butter
1 pinch of salt
100 g of dark pastry chocolate
6 cl of liquid cream

Break and beat the egg in a salad bowl. Add 5 tbsp. sugar, vanilla sugar and a pinch of salt, and beat with a whisk.
Add 2 glasses and 4 tbsp. tablespoons of flour and mix the dough with a wooden spoon. Cut the soft butter and add it.
Add 2 tbsp. of water, knead the dough and form a ball. Wrap it in cling film and leave to rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
Flour a work surface, and roll out the dough with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3 mm.
Cut out two identical shapes for each cookie using cookie cutters. Using a straw and a toothpick, make eyes and a mouth on half of the cookies.
Place the biscuits on the baking tray covered with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes at 180°C.
Break half a chocolate bar and melt in the microwave on low power several times for 30 seconds. Add 4 tbsp. tablespoons of liquid cream, mix and leave to cool.
Place chocolate ganache on the bottom of the biscuits, close with a biscuit, pressing so that the chocolate is well distributed.
