Little Halloween prune pies

Ingredients

  • 200 g of organic pitted prunes from ibo!
  • 30 g of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon(s) lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon(s) of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon(s) of butter
  • 1 puff pastry
  • 1 egg
  • organic flaked almonds from ibo! (optional)

Preparation

  1. Cut the prunes and cook them with the sugar, lemon juice and cinnamon for 10 minutes. Add the butter at the end and mix until you obtain a compote.

  2. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Unroll the puff pastry and cut out 8 circles of 10 cm in diameter. Make cutouts to create scary faces on 4 discs (the ones on top).

  3. Assemble the pies by placing a large spoonful of prune compote on 4 circles, then cover with the 4 other circles. Seal the edges with a fork.

  4. Brush the pies with the previously beaten egg and (optional) use flaked almonds to finalize the creation of the terrifying faces if you wish.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C until the pies are golden brown. Let cool and serve warm, possibly with ice cream or whipped cream.
