What to put in a fall TV set?
Seasonal products
If the TV set frees itself from many codes and is much less formal than a meal at the table, there is a rule from which we cannot deviate. Whether for a snack, a snack or an aperitif, it is essential to use seasonal products. From the end of September, we abandon the small tomatoes and cucumber sticks that we enjoyed all summer in favor of autumn vegetables. Squash, cabbage, and mushrooms are finally coming back to the forefront after months of absence. We therefore give them a triumphant welcome by putting them in the spotlight on our meal trays.
Do you find that vegetables don’t fit with the image of a festive and gourmet meal? Our smoked pumpkin hummus and our mushroom and mozzarella toast will prove you wrong. Especially since including vegetables, or fruits if you like sweet and sour, will allow you to bring a little balance to the meal and will facilitate digestion.
So even though it’s tempting to get distracted by screens, try to be aware of what you eat. This will help you avoid mechanically swallowing bites without savoring them, which would be a shame given the time spent in the kitchen. Also, it promotes the feeling of satiety and allows you to eat the right quantities.
Gourmet and practical recipes
The false good idea of the TV set? All the recipes that are difficult to enjoy while sitting on a sofa. So forget about salads, pastas and sauced dishes that require cutlery. Instead, we favor everything eaten with the hands or appetizer picks. Pumpkin and bacon pizza, sweet potato burritos, fried chicken croquettes… Street food comes to your home for an evening.
And vegetarians can rest assured, we have not forgotten them, far from it. Vegetarian meatballs, vegetable fritters and meatless croque-monsieur… There’s something for everyone. This is also the advantage of the TV tray, you can prepare it in an XL version for everyone, like an aperitif, or prepare individual trays. So everyone will be free to compose their meal according to their tastes and desires.
Bring napkins, trays and your softest throws, but before that, it’s time to go to the kitchen.
