The oven is our ideal companion in the kitchen, especially when it warms the atmosphere, the heart and our stomach!
In cooking, there are several profiles. Those who order on different applications; those who prefer to go to restaurants; and those who find happiness and balance by putting themselves in the kitchen. In this club of which we are obviously part – theAdmission is free and everyone is invited – there is the “fire” clan and the “oven” clan. Even if the two cooking methods frequently complement each other.
Among the special “fire” recipes – electric, induction or gas hobs, it doesn’t matter – we note the winter stews, even if the latter can be made in the oven. For the “oven” team, in winter, we give pride of place to quiches, gratins, shepherd’s pie, croque-monsieur, and long-roasted pieces which express their full potential after long hours of cooking.
The oven, the final touch
There are few recipes that do not require any prior preparation before being baked. The “one pot – add the following as you please » are certainly an undeniable time saver, but often do not allow you to express all the flavors of a dish. It is for this reason that in some of the following recipes, the meats are first marked in the pan before being put in the oven. The sauces and béchamel are also made beforehand before moving on to assembling the recipe.
When it comes to easy and hassle-free all-in-one dishes, winter gratins are in a good position. Simply grated, cut into slices or pieces, added with cream, milk, and/or grated cheese, winter vegetables such as squash, celeriac, leeks, carrots, or parsnips, are a recipe.
