Children are also entitled to their festive menu on New Year’s Eve. For them, we imagine gourmet and original dishes, which will delight them almost as much as the arrival of Santa Claus! Easy recipes that will leave children with a taste of celebration.
It’s not always easy to know what menu to create for the kids on New Year’s Eve. A moment during which the children have difficulty sitting at the table, caught up in the desire to go and see what is going on around them instead. So to no longer have to decide between the eternal butter shells and the exceptional turkey with truffles, it is possible to balance the children’s New Year’s Eve menus around stylish and well-thought-out party recipes.
A special children’s holiday menu 100% yum
To divert their attention, or rather to make them want to eat, we offer the children something to enjoy from the aperitif, with appetizers in the form of candy. Original and delicious, they are there to whet the appetite of children and make them wait for the sometimes late arrival of the main course. We continue with a new or revisited recipe, such as a turkey fillet breaded with hazelnuts, which we accompany with a gratin or a puree. For the dessert, which they await with such impatience, we focus on decoration. Cookies with green and red icing or gingerbread houses: the mere sight of them will delight them as much as their future gifts. Festive recipes that are enough to make children forget the long hours that still separate them from the time when they can leave the table.

The holidays are a risky period for the little ones: end-of-term fatigue, cold and humid weather, and repeated overeating create the basis for flu and digestive disorders. So that they can enjoy themselves while staying in great shape, create a separate, simple and delicious menu for them.
> Be careful of appetizers: they love them and are often hungry.
Plan small vegetable-based bites (dips, mini raw vegetable skewers, etc.) to nibble with your fingers. Limit the quantity and variety (two to three different recipes are enough).
> Provide water and fruit juice for the aperitif and meal (to be diluted with 25% water). Avoid sodas or limit them to one or two glasses maximum for the evening.

> Include vegetables in the menu: mini soup, cherry tomatoes, puree or small gratin to accompany the meat.
> It is not necessary to provide a cheese platter, because children are often not very hungry after the dish, but include dairy products in the preparations: diced cheese as an aperitif, milk and grated cheese in a gratin, fresh goat’s cheese in a puff pastry as a starter, yogurt sauce for raw vegetables, etc.
> Depending on their tastes, plan on meat or fish. A small portion is enough, but choose quality products: free-range or organic poultry, wild fish, etc.
> Impossible to eliminate dessert but you can lighten it! Avoid the traditional log based on buttercream, which is quite indigestible, and instead garnish your cake with a light pastry cream with egg whites or an airy whipped cream.
> Provide fresh fruit, which they will nibble on in the evening: fruit basket or plain cut-up fruit (sprinkled with lemon to prevent browning).

The right quantities

Plan for very reasonable quantities, knowing that this is a period when children tend to snack more than usual, and often have snacks and invitations (school, family, friends).
> Aperitif: 3 to 4 appetizers per child and raw vegetables to snack on.
> The starter is optional and must remain light (based on vegetables, fish).
> Dish: 50 to 60 g of meat for a child aged 6 and 150 g of vegetables, 70 to 80 g of meat for a child aged 10 and 170 g of vegetables.
> Dessert: cut the cake into very small pieces, they will possibly eat a second piece later in the evening.
> Available: water and cut fruit.

> Limit chocolate treats, which are often very indigestible. Instead, have the children prepare homemade chocolates, in pretty silicone molds.

We reduce, especially in fat! For the little ones too, the aftermath of the holidays is often difficult. Have some homemade vegetable soup, salad or cooked vegetables, or even steamed fish (optional). Yogurts are perfect for rebalancing the damaged intestinal flora: opt for natural yogurts, which you flavor with a little honey, jam or brown sugar. Also give them a fruit treatment: in compote, raw or in a smoothie, to stock up on fiber and vitamins, but also to rehydrate and promote body cleansing.
