What are the benefits of detox herbal tea?
Detoxifying and hydrating, herbal tea can be a real ally in your detox program. Thanks to a blend of plants with draining properties, detox infusions promote the elimination of toxins. They are therefore recommended in addition to a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
In practice, you can consume up to 1l per day, or around three cups, ideally drunk in the morning or after a heavy meal to facilitate digestion. And their depurative effects don’t just stop at our intestinal comfort. Detox herbal teas also have real benefits on the skin, and can therefore help with hydration and good health. Who knew an infusion could do so much good?

The most effective plants for cleansing the body
For the liver
Black radish, artichoke, dandelion… No, this is not the list of ingredients for a salad, but that of plants to cleanse your liver. Licorice, rosemary and linden sapwood are also to be favored, to prevent the risks of inflammation and take care of this organ.
For the kidneys
The kidneys are essential for the proper functioning of the body. To pamper them, focus on cherry stems, meadowsweet, birch and dandelion.
For the intestines
During the holiday season, most of us have swallowed our weight’s worth in foie gras, champagne and chocolates. The digestive system is therefore often overworked. Psyllium, mallow, burdock, peppermint and lemon balm can help improve your intestinal well-being.
For the skin
Although aloe vera is a plant frequently found in cosmetics, it can also be consumed as an infusion to treat skin problems. Green tea, chamomile and wild pansy are also interesting plants to do good for our skin.
How to prepare a detox herbal tea?
First choose the plants according to the problem you wish to treat: digestive comfort, skin problems, elimination of toxins… In quantity, count a pinch of each plant and two slices of fruit per cup, i.e. 250 ml of water.
Then boil a pot of water; Once the water is boiling, remove from the heat and add the plants. Leave to infuse for 3 minutes, covered, or 7 minutes if your infusion contains tea, adding the other ingredients 3 minutes before the end.
Filter, then serve, with 1 tbsp. teaspoon of honey to sweeten, if necessary.
For herbal teas purchased in stores, simply follow the directions on the package. Their advantage is that the herbal mixture is already made, often with specific benefits. All you have to do is boil the water and let it infuse.
The tip: once prepared, the herbal tea can be kept refrigerated for 48 hours. You can infuse it in advance, to consume it cold or hot a little later.
Where to find the best detox infusion preparations?
Making your own herbal teas is great. But we don’t always have the necessary plants on hand. In this case, it is better to go to a store or herbalist to buy ready-made herbal tea preparations. With or without theine, with citrus or red fruits… There are numerous references to herbal teas with draining and depurative effects.
On the other hand, it is better to choose an organic product, without pesticides. Indeed, before we can eliminate toxins, we must first ensure that we do not add more to our body.
