No time for breakfast? Here are all our takeaway recipe ideas.
To those who put off waking up until the last minute; who have no appetite when getting out of bed but later in the morning; or who like to organize breakfasts with their colleagues… There are a thousand reasons not to have lunch at home. So to avoid a stop at the bakery and a coffee shop and reduce your monthly budget, we opt for takeaway breakfast recipes.
Takeaway breakfast: instructions
Keep your balance
One of the downsides of not eating breakfast before leaving for work is that you often feel hungry mid-morning. As a result, we either snack before lunch, or we pounce on food during the lunch break. In fact, this increases the risk of consuming fatty and sugary foods, and can ruin your efforts to adopt a balanced diet.
Taking your breakfast with you is therefore an opportunity to transform the first meal of the day into a healthy snack, and above all, to stock up on energy.
For this, we think about consuming sources of fiber, complex proteins, carbohydrates and vitamins. Fruits, for example, will provide you with both fiber and vitamins, while cereals provide both good carbohydrates and fiber. As for those who prefer to opt for a sports breakfast, the emphasis is on proteins with dairy products, oilseeds and seeds.
Keep in mind, however, that if, from time to time, you want gourmet recipes, but necessarily healthy (here pastries and homemade cinnamon rolls), you have every right to do so. It is important that your food is a source of pleasure.
Gourmet recipes yes, but practical
The biggest constraint when you don’t have lunch at home is the question of transportation. Not only must everything arrive intact, but the preparations must also be kept well during the journey. Forget recipes with fragile products, which must remain cool, and those which require cutlery or several containers. We are talking here about fruit salads, yogurts, pancakes (which are best eaten at the minute)…
Instead, take the example of travel cakes, preparations that do not fear temperature variations and can be enjoyed on the go. We think in particular of cakes, muffins, cookies, and homemade cereal bars. Another option: prepare bread for the week and make your toast before leaving. As for hot drinks, fruit juices, smoothies… Simply pour them into a thermos to keep them at temperature.
A single watchword: organization
Getting up at 6 a.m. to prepare breakfast is clearly not the goal of the day. We want to save time and not add an additional task to our morning routine. To do this, we plan a time during the week, around 1 hour (depending on the recipe(s) chosen) to make our breakfasts for the week. The same goes for drinks that can be kept in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Once you have made the recipes, all you have to do is store the muffins, slices of cake and cereal bars in boxes and slip them into your bag. Try to think about it the night before, because in the morning rush you may forget your snack.
