Even better than New Year’s Eve, the post-party brunch! The must ? A buffet of 100% home-made delights for a magical brunch. But what should we offer our guests for this somewhat exceptional meal?
The day before, we enjoyed a New Year’s Eve meal during which we were able to taste foie gras, salmon, poultry, finishing with dessert. Why not extend this moment with a post-party brunch? Remember, brunch is none other than the combination of breakfast and lunch. Usually served between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., the brunch the day after the party is the perfect “meal package” to please young and old alike. And some of our loved ones will certainly still have a little room to taste some dishes that only we have the secret to.
Savory dishes for post-party brunch
Avocado toast, gravelax salmon, eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs or shrimp verrines! As it is still a festive meal, you can make foie gras toast and add a few slices of truffle. But we stick with the great classics of this meal between breakfast and lunch.
Sweet dishes
French toast, pancakes, banana bread, carrot cake, you’re spoiled for choice. You can also prepare all kinds of homemade granola recipes based on yogurt or cottage cheese, and prolong the festive spirit by preparing homemade gingerbread, small cinnamon or ginger cookies which can be shaped a little man or a fir tree to stay in seasonality. And to bring a little lightness and freshness, we also think about making a beautiful salad with seasonal fruits.
The drinks
Brunch is also an opportunity to enjoy fresh produce, to be included in fresh fruit juices or smoothies, with if possible active ingredients good for the liver such as apple, carrot, orange. We also revisit classic hot drinks, tea, coffee or hot chocolate, in more gourmet versions (latte macchiatto, Christmas tea mix, etc.). We also think about detox waters to pamper your body a little more. And to extend the festive side, we prepare Mimosas, cult brunch cocktails and for children, we offer bubble tea (made with tapioca balls).
