During the winter, we often spend our weekends indoors to escape the cold. The perfect opportunity for brunch. What if we added citrus fruits to bring a little sunshine to the plates? Here are our favorites for the best brunch dishes around citrus fruits.
Why citrus fruits?
Oranges, lemons, grapefruits and clementines are the only rays of color that shine during winter. They are pretty to look at, good for health and digestion, while being rich in vitamin C, antioxidants, and potassium. The list is long.
The benefits of vitamin C
Vitamin C contributes to the proper functioning of the immune system, essential to fight against cold season. It helps to better absorb iron, an essential element for humans, especially for vegetarians and people suffering from deficiencies.
It also plays an essential role for our skin, because it is a founding element of scar tissue, essential for wound healing. For this reason, it is found in many beauty products.
Citrus Recipes
Citrus goes with almost everything and can be used in a variety of ways. The supremes of blood oranges to liven up a sea bream ceviche, the zest of kaffir lime to refresh a chocolate mousse, or the orange juice, inseparable from the sauce of the Suzette crepes.
