Here's the foolproof trick to keep yogurts longer

If you are a regular consumer of dairy products, you have probably already discovered, with disappointment, a forgotten yogurt at the bottom of the refrigerator and had a very bad surprise when opening it. To avoid this, there is a simple and effective trick thanks to which you can extend the life of your yogurts and say goodbye to waste.

Keep yogurts cool

The key to keeping your yogurts longer is to maintain a low but above all stable temperature. Indeed, yogurts are fresh dairy products, sensitive to temperature variations. The first rule to follow is therefore to store them in the coldest part of the refrigerator, where the temperature fluctuates between 1 and 4 °C. Absolutely avoid the refrigerator door because the temperatures fluctuate each time it is opened.

As soon as you get home from shopping, always remember to remove your yogurts from their cardboard packaging to allow better circulation of cold around each pot. Also be sure to organize your yogurts according to their expiry date. Place the most recent ones at the back of the refrigerator and bring forward those from the previous week. This way, you will consume the oldest ones first and avoid ending up with expired yogurts.

Place the pots upside down

To extend the life of your yogurts, simply place the jars upside down, rather than right side up. This simple gesture not only prevents bacteria from growing on the surface by creating a sort of vacuum effect that significantly extends their freshness. This is also a tip that applies to homemade jams and prevents them from going moldy.
