In this month of January, where the cold and the gray can sometimes tarnish our days, there is nothing like a comforting winter menu carefully chosen to sweeten the week and counter the famous “Blue Monday”, the third Monday of the month of January infamous for being the most depressing day of the year. The perfect opportunity to treat yourself to some good, comforting winter stews that highlight seasonal products in recipes that will make you love winter vegetables. Also choose dishes that are quick to prepare, such as winter gratins, pan-fried or pasta with sauce, perfect for a week of winter.

Your shopping list for the week
First step at the primeur, where you can get broccoli, cooked beets and chioggia, butternut squash, carrots, mushrooms, potatoes, celery, leeks, spinach, white cabbage and cauliflower. Don’t forget the essential garlic, shallots and onions.
Continue by stocking up onaromatic herbs with chervil, chives, coriander, flat-leaf parsley and mint.
Don’t forget to add the spices to your basket: dried pepper, cumin, nutmeg, coriander seeds, thyme, smoked paprika, cinnamon and finally herbs de Provence.
Side fresh products, add to the shopping list butter, thick and liquid crème fraîche, Greek yogurt, mascarpone, ricotta, gruyere, mimolette, Comté, pecorino and grated parmesan. Continue with mozzarella, bleu de Gex (or other blue cheese) and feta, as well as puff and shortcrust pastry. As always, don’t forget the eggs.
