Thanks to well-chosen fruits, effective spices, and seasonal flavors, we become a mixologist in our sneakers, in accordance with the season, to prepare a stunning autumn cocktail.
How to make an easy fall cocktail?
Seasonal fruits
This season obviously, we glorify apples, pears, figs, or grapes in our fall cakes, but we can also include them in our cocktails! In cider, pieces, compote, or syrup, seasonal fruits are great princes and match all our fancies.
Spice Glory
Autumn is THE season for spices! Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom, anise, cloves, but also vanilla, all are included in our drinks in powder or syrup version.
Divine pumpkin
Pumpkin (it can be a pumpkin or butternut squash, obviously!) can also be added to the list of ingredients for a fall cocktail recipe. How to integrate it? Easy, just add vegetable puree to a homemade spicy cinnamon syrup for example.
Tastes of autumn
Aside from seasonal fruits, vegetables, and spices, other products such as honey, maple syrup, chocolate, and even coffee are reminiscent of fall. Easy to integrate into a shaker – they are in liquid form most of the time – they bring a lot of roundness to a cocktail.
The art of cocktail balance
The rule to follow when preparing a cocktail is the balance of flavors. Be careful of the excess sugar provided by fruit juices or honey which can “muffle” other flavors. The quantity of alcohol must also remain reasonable so as not to be sickening. Same thing with spices, a little is good, too much is undrinkable! In short, a little sugar, alcohol, acidity, bitterness, spices, or even aromatic herbs to liven things up, this is the right combo to obtain the ideal drink.
Whether sweet, spicy, bittersweet, herbaceous, or fruity, what fall cocktail will you prepare for your next aperitif?
Alcohol abuse is dangerous for health.
To consume with moderation.
